Point-to-Point (P2P) wireless technology is a high-performance method for delivering high-speed internet between two fixed locations without the need for physical cables like fiber or copper.

 

How It Works

The system utilizes a line-of-sight (LoS) wireless link. A primary source (the "Access Point") is connected to a high-speed Internet source (Xplore 5G as an example). This station transmits a focused microwave or radio beam to a highly directional "Station" antenna located at the client’s premises.

Transmission: Data is converted into radio frequencies (typically in the 5GHz, 11GHz, or 60GHz bands).

Reception: The receiving antenna captures the signal and converts it back into standard Ethernet data for a local network or router.

 

Key Components

To ensure a stable and fast connection, the system relies on specialized hardware:

Transceivers: High-gain radios that handle both sending and receiving data.

Directional Antennas: Focused "dish" or "panel" antennas that concentrate the signal into a narrow beam to minimize interference.

Mounting Infrastructure: Towers or roof mounts that provide the necessary elevation to clear obstacles.

Hardware Mounting & Alignment

Once the location is finalized, the technician installs the outdoor antennas.

Precision Alignment: Using specialized software and signal meters, we align the antenna to the exact degree. Even a slight deviation can affect speeds, so we prioritize a "perfect lock" on the signal.

Secure Installation: We use heavy-duty brackets designed to withstand local weather conditions, including high winds and heavy snow.

 

Cable Routing & Entry

A high-quality, shielded Ethernet cable (CAT5e/CAT6) is run from the outdoor antenna into your building.

Weatherproofing: We use drip loops and silicone sealant at the entry point to protect your property from moisture.

Neatness: Cables are secured along the exterior walls or tucked into conduits for a professional, low-profile appearance.

 

Internal Setup & Power

Inside your home or office, the technician will complete the final connections:

PoE Injector: A Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) adapter is installed. This small device (24V/48V/56V depends on the equipment) sends power up to the outdoor antenna and data down to your router through a single cable.

Router Configuration: We connect the system to your WiFi router and ensure the settings are optimized for the new high-speed link.

 

Speed Test & Quality Assurance

Before leaving, we perform a series of tests to guarantee the quality of your connection.

Throughput Test: We verify that your download and upload speeds match your service plan.

Latency & Jitter Check: We ensure the connection is stable for video conferencing, gaming, and streaming.

Client Walkthrough: The technician will show you where the equipment is located and explain how to perform a simple power cycle if you ever need to reset the connection.

 

Installation Checklist for You:

Access: Ensure the technician has access to the roof or mounting area and the room where the router will be located.

Decision Maker: An adult (18+) should be present to approve the mounting location and cable entry point.

Timeframe: A standard installation typically takes between 2 to 4 hours, depending on the complexity of the cable run.
